I've been playing around with creating avatars. Here is one from WeeWorld. It's sort of like playing with paper dolls! Let me know if you like it.

Welcome to Brownie Tips!

Welcome, Brownies and Brownie parents!

My name is Patsy Brautigam, and I will be your new guide through the library's Brownie workshops this spring semester. Ms. Jorie Nissen has accepted a position as reference librarian with the Freeman Branch of Harris County Public Library. She has worked very hard over the past few years to earn her library science degree. We will miss her very much, but please wish her well in her new position! Thank you so much, Jorie, for all of your hard work! I will let you know her new contact information when she sends it to me. I know that she would love to hear from you!

Just to let you know a little bit about me -- I am a reference librarian at Lone Star College-CyFair. I was born in Houston, and I grew up in the Heights. I met my future husband, Gerald, in high school, and we have been married for 30 years. We have 3 sons, ages 22, 19, and 16, and our family has been very active in Boy Scouts for the past 16 years. I am also a co-leader in Girl Scout Troop 21 at the Center Serving Persons with Mental Retardation in Houston. My sister, Peggy, is a member of the troop there.

I was never a Girl Scout, but I believe that the many years I have spent in scouting with my sons and with Peggy have made up for my non-Scouting early years. I enjoy working with Scouts, and I am excited about being your guide during our workshops! I look forward to getting to know you better. Thank you for your interest in the Scouting workshops! Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Ms. Jorie posted pictures of our workshops on her blog, Brownie Points (http://browniepointsihcpl.blogspot.com/), and I will try to post pictures here, too. Please stay tuned!
